Outdoor fibreglass drop in pool with high water table. GRP lining refurbishment.
We were called in to refurbish an outdoor fibreglass drop in pool. As you can see from the photos below this particular swimming pool has buckled around the walls and floor and has also cracked in some places. Although this is an uncommon occurrence with fibreglass drop in pools, such damage can be possible over time due to a high water table and many winterisations. The cost to remove and replace the whole fibreglass drop in pool would have been considerable, the customer was not concerned with the aesthetics of the bows in the pool but did want to regain functionality of the fibreglass drop in pool. This is where we recommended our cost effective solution, our fibreglass lining would regain functionality of the pool by sealing the cracks completely, as well as giving the pool back its strength. When we first started work on this project the bowed floor was completely filled with water and bounced up and down when we walked on it, reminiscent of standing on a water bed. However, when we had finished the in-situ fibreglass lining, we noticed the floor was much rigid and no longed moved. This is an example that demonstrates how effective our linings are at increasing the structural integrity of the swimming pools that we work on . As you can see from the after picture the cracks in the pool were repaired and the fibreglass drop in pool was given back its functionality. We were very pleased with the outcome of this project as our extremely cost effective fibreglass lining was, to our knowledge, the only solution to giving this pool a new lease of life short of an entire drop in replacement.
